DOLE & ILO-IPEC Partnership To Eliminate Worst Forms of Child Labor

“Taking Children Out of Child Labor through a Functional and Institutionalized Child Labor Monitoring and Integrated Services Delivery System in the Communities”—one goal that binds different government agencies to succeed in eliminating worst forms of child labor in Quezon Province.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by DOLE Regional Office IV-A and International Labour Organization-International Program on the Elimination of Child Labor (ILO-IPEC) key officials represented by Assistant Regional Director Alex Avila -DOLE ROIVA; Mr. Virgilio T. Magsino – DOLE-Quezon Field Office; Mr. Lawrence Jeff Johnson- Country Director-ILO; Mayor Luis Visorde of Calauag, Quezon; Provincial Administrator Romulo M. Edaño; Vice Governor Vicente J. Alcala; and other officials during the MOU signing ceremony held last September 1, 2011 at Governor’s Mansion, Lucena City.

With the MOU thoroughly examined and signed, specific duties and responsibilities were disseminated among the concerned agencies.

This is considered to be one of the major steps of DOLE RO IV-A toward achieving the goal of “Child-Labor Free Philippines”.
